MY LOVELY FLOWER
My name is Triyatmi. I have a lovely flower. The flower grew at the very large
tall beautiful mountain. It's always accompany me in my
bedroom. It is
extremely aromatic beautiful flower. It is Edelweiss (Anaphalis javanica). Anaphalis javanica is member of Magnoliopsida class
and family of Asteraceae. It's body can be divided into four main parts. They are root, stem, leaf,
and flower. Roots are located under soil. There are sturdy deep fibrous roots.
On the hard stem, Those many long gray branchs and green sharp-pointed leaves.
On the leaves, there are many very characteristic gray smooth feathers
to protecs it from frost and to withstand evapotranspiration and dryness as a
result of the high ultraviolet
mountain radiation. It
has very golden small beautiful flower. Additionally, this plants has a thick sap
that enables it to withstand very
low temperature.
Edelweiss can be grew at under high
levels of ultraviolet radiation, low atmospheric preassure and extreme temperature. It has been very prized,
leading to being widely collected as a beautiful flower for decorative. Its now a protected species that can
not be collected. Edelweiss
can be found from four region of Indonesia. They are Rinjani mountain,
Papandayan mountain, Gede mountain, and Pengarango mountain. Edelweiss are
classified as short lived perennial.
When I went to
Rinjani mountain, I almost
always pick Edelweiss. Usually, I go to Rinjani mountain to join Sobat
Bumi organitation. That activity helt twice years to observe the condition of
Edelweiss. Sobat Bumi organitation doing the conservation of Edelweiss. The
purpose of this conservation to keep Edelweiss everlasting. Because Edelweiss has important
fungtion that is to prevent erosion. Reason of that I know about the
Edelweiss event just a little bit. I do love it.
